In this Peter Schiff campaign video, he says that it might be best to get rid of all the anti-trust laws. Open competition is the best remedy for trusts. Now the biggest companies in America are all “too big to fail”. That means that they can never lose or go out of business. This will cause these organizations to balloon. Everyone will want to do business with them because they know that they would always be paid. The government needs to get out of this completely.
Individuals should be free, and governments shouldn’t interfere with the market. It would be best for individuals to negotiate and contract amongst themselves. The government shouldn’t interfere with businesses, nor the personal choices of an individual. Of course, this presumes that the behavior doesn’t cause harm to anyone else. When it comes to seat belt laws, helmet laws, or smoking marijuana – these are all choices that an individual should be able to make for themselves. If a person wants to take a risk and jeopardize their life, that should be that person’s choice and right.
If drugs were legal, we wouldn’t just see our nation turn into a bunch of drug addicts. Most people have enough self restraint for that. But because it is illegal, the prices are driven really high. So the drug addict must turn to crime in order to finance their addiction. The government can’t even keep drugs out of prisons, so how are they supposed to be expected to keep it off of the streets and out of our homes. One thing that anti-drug laws really do is to create more crime. The Peter Schiff campaign seeks to change that.
